Little moments of gratitude help take the edge off in those times when screaming at the cashier to go a little faster or cutting off the guy who cut me off first seems like the right choice. A deep breath, a look around and a reminder of gratitude might be enough to change our perception.

Who Do I think I Am?
"I’m a fraud and everyone will find out!" This nagging feeling creeps up on me from time to time when I go to write a blog or even sit with my clients. I feel like a fraud because I struggle with the very same topics I write about. Things like balance, self-acceptance, and loving the … Continue reading Who Do I think I Am?
The Human Experience
In order to study the art of happiness, we have to understand the significance of suffering. Even those situations that make us feel heavy and as if life is being unfair. In every situation, including the darker ones, there is something to be taken. It may be a lesson, a memory, awareness, or a reminder … Continue reading The Human Experience
People Are Never Perfect
We are all “perfectly imperfect!” Real people aren't perfect and perfect people aren't real. At times, I catch myself being preachy with clients and falling into believing that I have some special knowledge about life. I believe that I’m expected to pass along little gems of wisdom in sessions as if I know what life … Continue reading People Are Never Perfect

Breathe Into It
My Yoga Therapy Immersion was a profound transformational experience for me. One lesson that has really been standing out, is that opening up to discomfort is the basis of transmuting our shit. Everything good thing in my life that has ever 'happened' to me, has first made me extremely uncomfortable. From my personal life to … Continue reading Breathe Into It

For years and years we’ve been trained to make lists, prioritize goals and if we’re good, even give ourselves delicious, motivating rewards. Something along the lines of “do this…and get that.” But … Continue reading New Year, New You?
Present is Better Than Perfect
I used to think that in order to live a happy life, everything needed to be perfect. I've always been driven. And at some point, I internalized that in order to be successful I had to be perfect. In my second year of graduate school, I birthed my first daughter into the world. Then continued … Continue reading Present is Better Than Perfect
The Right Mindset
Positive vibes aren't just for hippies. If you can find any authentic reason to give thanks, anything that is going right with the world or your life, and put your attention there, then statistics say you’re going to be better off.
Ready for Action?
Most of my clients already have heard or read about the practice of goal setting and why it is important to their growth. Yet, when I ask about their goals or how many are actually written down, the usual responses are ," I never thought about really doing that" or "They aren't but I have … Continue reading Ready for Action?
