Like the ocean tides, life has a natural ebb and flow . There is always a beginning and end , a high point and a low point .
Many of us, most of us, carry the unspoken belief that we’re supposed to feel amazing all the time. As soon as we feel less than, our internal alarms go off, signaling that “something’s wrong,” and then, like any self-protecting and fit to survive creature would do, we go looking for a cause until we find one. And because our mind machines are so well-versed in the art of finding a thought to match our feelings, we can always find some reason, some “why” to explain the underlying feelings of unease, contraction, sadness, guilt, or whatever brand of low we’re swimming in on a particular day.
We are rhythmic, energetic beings. We have an ebb and flow and so does the world around us, and it is completely unrealistic to go around expecting things to unfold at one frequency, one level of intensity, or any one way.
“Life is not a straight line, one-dimensional, one flavor, or one feeling experience. And neither is the process of creating our selves, our lives, and our life’s work.”
Issues arise when we fight against the natural current or try to jump off the wave, leaving us to fight the under tow, depleted and exhausted. Life can become stressful when we don’t go with the natural current of our life. An important aspect of this is to allow ourselves to live in the lows without needing to fix them, figure them out, or attach them to a reason. There is immense transformative power in just being with whatever we’re feeling.
Magic happens though when we can surrender completely to the process and remember that even though we are riding a wave, the wave is still a part of the ocean. And each wave remains connected to the ocean (Source).
Let go and go with the flow of where life is pulling you, even if you don’t quiet understand it, trust there is a bigger picture being created that will unfold from the journey .
Trust the timing. All things have their own divine timing and pace . Just because you might be ready for something doesn’t mean that the other person or situation is in alignment with yours at this time. Something’s move fast others take more time . If something you are hoping for isn’t happening just yet notice what is happening in your life and focus on that . Whatever is in front of you in the now is building the steps to where you are going .
Its not about the destination; enjoy the journey. Instead running as fast as you can , slow down and take it all in . It is in the journey where all the gifts and magic are to be found . The journey is where you see the signs and directions to where you are truly meant to go. When you only focus on the end game you actually disconnect from life.
“Its not the number of years in your life but the life in your years that truly matters.”
Find the lesson. You might now always know why things are happening the way they are. There are no accidents or wrong turns. Sometimes you need to get lost to find yourself again. Everyone you meet and every situation presents you with some kind of a gift or insight that you can learn from. Connect with the gift and take that with you it’s to be used on your journey .
Make space for magic. Set you intentions and take action but then create some space for them to manifest . If we constantly are fanning the flames eventually the fire will go out . Find the balance between doing and receiving .
Lead with your heart. When we come from our head it’s usually our ego THINKING this is what is best for us. When you can make choices from your heart and FEEL your way through life you move more into your truth and make choices from an intuitive place .
Incorporate journaling. Finding time to let words flow from your heart onto paper is a great way to release stress and let go of nagging thoughts. We tend to store up so much energy worrying and waiting for life to unfold. Release this energy onto paper; write down whatever comes up for you. Maybe even take some time to write down all that you’re grateful for. When you acknowledge all that you have, you create that space for more amazing things to come.
Acceptance. You might know what’s good for you but the universe might know better . Trust that if something is truly meant to be it will be . The universe has your back you will always get what you need for your highest good . If something you are hoping for something that doesn’t happen or goes away trust that it just made space for something better and new to come in .
The challenge: Can you just be with the fact that you don’t feel as on point, as inspired, as on fire, or as in love today as you were yesterday or as you want to be? Can you just sit with that feeling, without trying to make sense of it or solve it like it’s a problem? Can you consider the possibility that it’s completely and perfectly normal to feel the way you’re feeling and that the idea that you should feel a certain way all the time is the real insanity?
“I am no longer the wave of consciousness thinking itself separated from the sea of cosmic consciousness. I am the ocean of Spirit that has become the wave of human life.” -Paramahansa Yogananda
